By using HeightCompare you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. The site is provided free of charge, and these terms are the basis on which it is offered.

2. What the service is

HeightCompare provides free browser-based tools for comparing and converting heights, along with reference data and explanatory guides. The tools run locally in your browser and require no account.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal, educational and commercial purposes. You may not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site's infrastructure or interfere with its availability.
• Scrape the site at a volume that degrades service for other users.
• Republish substantial portions of the site's written content as your own.
• Use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law.
• Present the site's reference data as verified measurements where the underlying data is explicitly described as an estimate.

4. Accuracy and no warranty

The tool is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

Unit conversions on this site are exact arithmetic. Everything else - country averages, celebrity and athlete figures, animal and dinosaur estimates, character heights, percentile and BMI results - is an estimate, modelled value or commonly cited figure. None of it is a verified measurement, and none of it should be relied upon for any decision that carries consequences. See the disclaimer for detail.

5. Not professional advice

Nothing on this site constitutes medical, health, nutritional, architectural or engineering advice. The percentile, child height and BMI calculators are statistical models for general interest and are not diagnostic tools. Consult a qualified professional for any matter requiring professional judgement.

6. Intellectual property

The site's design, code and written content are the property of HeightCompare and are protected by copyright. Charts, images and comparisons that you generate using the tools are yours to use freely, including commercially, and we claim no rights over them.

Underlying reference data belongs to its original sources. Country average height figures derive from NCD Risk Factor Collaboration data. Where a figure originates with a named organisation, that organisation's own terms may also apply to redistribution.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HeightCompare and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is zero.

8. Availability

We do not guarantee the site will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. It may be changed, suspend features or be discontinued at any time without notice.

9. External links

The site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated at any time. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.
